Arise Oh God

I am just thinking about God arising tonight. My prayer is for His glory to rise in the Church…over the nations…in our youth and in the hearts of prophetic worshipers everywhere.

1. He arises to judge

Ps. 3:7 Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly,

Ps. 7:6 Arise, O Lord, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!

Ps. 9:19 Arise, O Lord, Do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged in Your sight.

Ps. 82:8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; For You shall inherit all nations.

quwm – to arise in a hostile sense, become powerful, come on the scene, maintain oneself and be set, rouse, stand ground

2. He arises to show His mercy

Ps. 10:12 Arise, O Lord! O God, lift up Your hand! Do not forget the humble.

Ps. 44:26 Arise for our help, And redeem us for Your mercies' sake.

Ps. 102:13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come.

quwm – to arise in a hostile sense, become powerful, come on the scene, maintain oneself and be set, rouse, stand ground

3. He arises to scatter His enemies

Ps. 68:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. A Song. Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him.

quwm – to arise in a hostile sense, become powerful, come on the scene, maintain oneself and be set, rouse, stand ground

4. He arises with His presence

2Chron. 6:41 "Now therefore, Arise, O Lord God, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. Let Your priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, And let Your saints rejoice in goodness.

Ps. 132:8 Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength

quwm – to arise in a hostile sense, become powerful, come on the scene, maintain oneself and be set, rouse, stand ground

5. He arises to reveal His glory

Is. 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

Is. 60:2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.

zarach – to break out, appear, come out, rise, shine, to scatter rays (used of the sun); also a child breaking out of the womb
