Sometimes it is interesting to read the beginning of the Word with the end in mind…
• In
the beginning of the Bible, God created the heavens and the earth – in the end
of the Bible God creates a new heaven and new earth (Gen. 1:1; Rev. 21:1).
• In
the beginning of the Bible, total darkness covered the earth– In the end of the
Bible total light will flood the earth (Gen. 1:2; Rev. 22:5)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, the first words ever heard were from God - spoken
into creation, “Let there be light” –
in the end of the Bible, the last words spoken are from the Lord to His
greatest creation - the Bride: “Surely I
am coming quickly.” (Gen. 1:3; Rev. 22:20)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, God began time with a morning followed by a night –
in the end of the Bible we will live in a day that has no more night. (Gen.
1:5; Rev. 22:5)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, God created a beautiful garden for man – in the end
of the Bible God has created a beautiful city for man. (Gen. 2:8; Rev. 21:2,
10)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, God created mankind out of the earth – it was a
corruptible body – in the end of the Bible mankind has a new, incorruptible body
and lives forever. (Gen. 2:7; 2Cor. 5:1)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, God created mankind in His image – In the end of
the Bible God has formed mankind in His character (Gen 1:26; Rev. 19:7-8)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, God told mankind to rule and have dominion over the
earth – in the end of the Bible God calls mankind to reign with Him forever
(Gen. 1:28; Rev. 22:5)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, God told Adam and Eve and all creatures to “Go” and
multiply – in the end of the Bible the Spirit calls the Bride to “Come!” (Gen. 1:28;
Rev. 22:17)
• In
the beginning of the Bible Adam and Eve hid from the (face) presence of God – in
the end of the Bible all of nations and tongues come before His face (Gen. 3:8;
Rev. 22:4)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, Adam and Eve were naked – in the end of the Bible,
mankind is clothed in white garments and nakedness is covered (Gen. 3:7; 2:25; Rev.
3:18)
• In
the beginning of the Bible, mankind is banished from the tree of life (Gen.
3:24) – In the end of the Bible mankind is invited to the tree of life (Rev.
22:1)
