7 Things - Psalm 19:7-11 Seven Steps To Revival

             King David calls us to go deeper with the Lord – here in Psalm 19:7-11, he shows us seven steps that we can take to find a renewal or revival of the soul:

7 Steps to Revival in Our Hearts Psalm 19:7-11:

There are many places in the Word where we can look to find secrets for revival. Psalm 19 is just one of those places. Here we can find a seven-step journey to renewal or revival in our hearts. Think about meditating on one of these each day over the next week. Don’t just think about it – take positive steps towards the meaning of each verse:

•  Fill your soul with turning—The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul
   The Lord knows how our lives need to be constantly turned back to Him. This verb “turn” is one of the most common verbs in Hebrew. Allow the Lord to show you areas of your life that need to be turned back to Him and surrendered anew.

•  Fill your mind with wisdom—The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
   Yield your mind and thoughts to the Lord. So many attitudes and actions begin in our thoughts. He calls even the most simple of us to heaven’s wisdom.

•  Fill your heart with joyThe statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart
   The Lord requires that His people be a joyful people. Joy is different from happiness – even in your suffering, you can lift up your heart to the joy of the Lord. This is the seat of our greatest strength.

•  Fill your eyes with truth—The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the   eyes;
   Let your eyes be set apart this week – allow His Word to bring revelation to your eyes.

•  Fill your walk with endurance—The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever
   This is a wonderful thought – that when we walk in the fear of the Lord (the fear of the Lord means to know Him; to love or worship Him; to obey Him) we will have great endurance for the walk of holiness. Allow the Lord to order your steps this week, and walk in paths of righteousness.

•  Fill your spirit with eternity—The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
   Allow the Lord to fill your spirit with His eternal truths. We cram such rubbish into our thoughts – I am also guilty of this. We can give so much time to unnecessary things. In 1 Corinthians 14:20, Paul urges us to be innocent when it comes to evil. We need to set our spiritual antenna to eternal things – things that are true and righteous altogether!

• Fill your desires with valuable things—More to be desired are they than gold…fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.

 The greatest treasure of the universe is not silver or gold, but these precious treasures of God’s Word and presence. If we would re-set ourselves to run after these treasures this week, a great revival would sweep into our lives.

God’s Law is perfect
God’s Testimony is sure and wise
God’s Statutes are upright and filled with joy
God’s Commandments are pure and open our eyes
God’s Awe is clean (pure, untainted) and enduring
God’s Judgments are totally true and righteous
God’s Word is desirable and sweeter than honey
