The Secrets Of God - Part Four

Here are some of the secrets of God:
Job 15:8   Have you heard the secret of God?

1.  His Name: Judg. 13:18 And the Angel of the Lord said to him, "Why do you ask My name, seeing it is secret? (Wonderful, beyond understanding, a name of wonder).

2.  His Covenant /Promises of Relationship with Us: Ps. 25:14 The secret (of the sweet, satisfying companionship) of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.  (and reveal to them its deep, inner meaning.)

Prov. 3:32   For the perverse person is abomination to the LORD: but his secret (confidential communion and secret counsel) is with the righteous.

3.  We, His People, Are Formed in Secret and are one of God’s Secrets: Ps. 139:15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

4.  His Secret Powers: John 7:10 But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

5.  Secrets and mysteries since the World Began: Matt. 13:35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: "I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world."

"I will speak to you in parables. I will explain mysteries hidden since the creation of the world." (NLT)

• The mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.  Matt. 13:3-50

• The mystery of the translations of the living saints at the end of the church age.  1Cor. 15:51, 52; 1Thess. 4:14, 17

• The mystery of the church as the Body of Christ, composed of saved Jews and Gentiles.  Eph 5:28-32                                       

• The mystery of the Church as the Bride of Christ. Eph. 5:28-32

• The mystery of “Christ in us the hope of glory”.  Gal. 2:20; Col. 1:26-27

• The mystery of “God, even Christ”. Col. 2:2, 9; 1Cor. 2:7  This involves Christ as the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form.

• The mystery of iniquity.  2Thess. 2:7; Matt. 13:33

• The mystery of the operation by which man is restored to godliness.  1Tim. 3:16

• The mystery of Israel’s blindness during the gospel age.  Rom. 11:25

• The mystery of the seven stars.  Rev. 1:20

• The mystery of Babylon, the harlot.  Rev. 7:5, 7

The Secrets of God - Part Three

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

Proverbs 25:2 

The Lord delights in us as we seek Him for His treasures and secrets. Here are the main reasons God has secrets:

1. Deut 29:29 The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

So that through the revelation of God’s secrets and plans we would know His ways and learn how to be obedient.

2. Ps. 27:5-6   For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. 
And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. Ps. 91:1

His secrets are our protection against the enemy.

3. Isa. 45:3   I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.

So that we would have confirmation of His Lordship.

4. 1Cor. 2:7   But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden  wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory (for our glorification,  that is, to lift us into the glory of His presence.  Amp.):

So that we might be filled with the likeness and Glory of God.

5. 1Cor. 2:8   Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

So that the devil, his angels or ungodly leaders would not know the great plans of God and stop them.

Seek the LORD while He may be found,
call upon Him while He is near.
