Songs From the Father's Heart

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT:

NEW CD

SONGS FROM THE FATHER'S HEART

Is now available

This is an instrumental/soaking CD that I recently recorded in Norway with some fabulous musicians.

Each track expresses songs that our Father sings over us during the various seasons of life. These are comforting prophetic songs that will settle in your spirit.

This is a prayer, worship, and soaking CD. The music is improvisational and prophetic. Wait quietly before the Lord as we carry your deepest longings and prayers before Him on our instruments. Listen for His voice as we also pour His thoughts and songs back into your heart with this prophetic music. We are not simply playing on our instruments, we are praying on our instruments.

Each of these pieces takes into account the various occasions in the Bible where the Lord hides, protects and surrounds us while He sings over us and inserts His hope deep into our soul. This CD is an expression of what some of these songs from the Father’s heart might sound like (Zephaniah. 3:17). My comments regarding each of these tracks are only suggestions for where you might begin your own prayer journey into the Father’s Heart.

You can follow the guidelines provided:

7 Things - Where God Sits

God sits in seven places - each of these is an expression of Christ's victory on Calvary:

• The Lord sits on the mercy seat – Ex. 25:22 And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.
The Lord’s presence was seated above the mercy seat in Moses’ Tabernacle. It is important to note that the Lord rules in mercy – His mercy triumphs over judgment (Jas. 2:13). Because of what Jesus accomplished on Calvary, He is able to sit down in His finished work – He sits in mercy!

• The Lord sits on His throne - Ps. 47:8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.
Rev. 7:10, 15 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
Dan. 7:9 And the Ancient of Days was seated…
He calls us to come boldly to His throne (Heb. 4:16) – we are invited into His presence – in full view of the King on the throne. This is a throne of grace – not judgment. Jesus has made it possible for us to come face to face with the King of the universe. He sits in grace!

• The Lord sits above the circle of the earth – Is. 40:22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
All the earth is the Lord’s. He is the Creator of heaven and earth. How great and awesome He is! He sits as King!

• The Lord sits (enthroned) in the middle of His praising people – Ps. 22:3 But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
This is one of the great truths about praise and worship – when we lift our hearts to Him and praise, He moves in on us and is seated in the praise – enthroned there in the hearts of His worshipers. He is not far away listening…He is right there receiving the perfume of our devotion and pouring His love right back into us. He sits in the midst of His people!

• The Lord sits (enthroned) over the floodwaters – Ps. 29:10 The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood, And the Lord sits as King forever.
The Lord was King and in full control when the earth was flooded in Noah’s time. He is King and in full control today and the earth is about to be flooded again – not with water, but with His glory. The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord just as the waters cover the sea. AS deep, and expansive as a great ocean – that is how fully the coming glory will cover us and all nations! He sits in glory!

• The Lord sits on the seat of judgment - Rom. 14:10 …For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. (2Cor. 5:9; 5:10)
Everyone will stand before Him and face His judgment, but for those who believe this will be a day of coronation and glory. He sits in judgment!

• The Lord sits at the right hand of the Father – Heb. 8:1 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens (10:11-12; Eph. 1:20)
This is the final triumph of the cross – Jesus has won a complete victory and now sits at the right hand of the Father – this is the place of honor. He is our High Priest. The Levitical high priests stood when they entered the Holiest Place once a year. They were only able to stand there for a brief moment. Jesus has finished His work and sits forever on the throne of Majesty. He sits in Majesty!

The Eyes of God

I have been thinking about the fabulous verse from a psalm of David today:

Psalm 27:4
One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.

We have the delight of beholding the beauty of the Lord for eternity – what a prospect! Maybe we will see some things about His eyes. Here is what we know so far:

Ps. 33:18       His eyes are on all those who fear Him
Ps. 34:15       His eyes are on the righteous
Ps. 66:7         His eyes are on the nations
Ps. 11:4         His eyes examine us all (Pr. 5:21)
Pr. 15:3          His eyes see everything
Zech. 4:10      His eyes search throughout the earth (1Chr. 16:9)
Zech. 12:4      His eyes watch over Judah (praise)
Pr. 22:12        His eyes watch over knowledge

Ps. 32:8          He guides you with His eye
Ps. 33:18        He guards you with His eye

No matter what you are going through right now - the Lord sees and understands. Nothing escapes His attention. He can see every detail - even the hidden shame and broken places of your heart. He is not looking at you to judge you - He is looking at you to guide and protect you. You are the apple (pupil) of His eye - the part of the eye that is guarded at all cost.

People see what you do
God sees why you do it

God is never
Blind to your tears
Deaf to your prayers
Silent to your pain

God Opens His Hand For Us

For all my blog readers – here is an encouragement for you as you go to the house of the Lord tomorrow – Here are the two occasions in the Bible where the Lord opens His hand – it is always to bless us. Of course...the reason His blessings and favor are poured out on us are because Jesus opened His hands on Calvary as He was nailed to the cross. This is the most self-less act of devotion for all time. Now His hand opens to all His children:

Psalm 104:27-28 These all wait for You,
That You may give them their food in due season.
What You give them they gather in;
You open Your hand, they are filled with good.

Psalm 145:14-16 The Lord upholds all who fall,
And raises up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look expectantly to You,
And You give them their food in due season.
You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Our Father is a God of multiplied blessings. He delights in opening His hand to bless us and satisfy every need. Run to Him and watch what He will do for you this day!
