In the Bible we can find seven miraculous births.
The first six of these occurred as a result of some unusual circumstances such
as pregnancies and births to women who were past child-baring age, or women who
were barren. Only one of these is an extremely unique birth – Jesus was
conceived and born contrary to all natural law as His mother, Mary, was a
virgin.
The first prophet to Israel (Samuel) and the last
prophet to Israel (John the Baptist) were conceived even though their mothers
had been barren for many years.
1.
Sarah, Abraham's wife gave birth to Isaac (Gen 11:30)
2.
Rebekah, Isaac's wife gave birth to Jacob and Esau (Gen 25:21)
3.
Rachel, Jacob's wife gave birth to Joseph (Gen 29:31)
4.
Samson's mother gave birth to Samson (Judg. 13:2)
5.
Hannah gave birth to Samuel when she was barren (1 Sam 1:5)
6.
Elizabeth gave birth to John the Baptist (Luke 1:7)
7. Mary gave birth to Jesus as a virgin (Matt. 1:18-25)
Two of
the greatest miracles in the Bible surround Jesus – He was born of a virgin,
and He was raised from the dead. Both of these miracles occurred so that we
could have eternal life.
Thank you Jesus.
