Wisdom is a foundation that we must run after

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.


We give honor to the Lord (Hallowed be Your name Matt. 6:9)


The wisdom of God makes us pure


Add to faith—virtue (moral excellence, goodness)


The fear of the Lord is the first step towards wisdom 1:7; 9:10; 15:33


God’s great wisdom is compared to the foolishness of man
1 Cor. 1:18, 25; 3:19; Matt. 11:25


Blessed are those who mourn: for they shall be comforted.

We call upon His Kingdom to come (Matt. 6:10)


The wisdom of God makes us peaceful

Add to virtue—Knowledge (especially knowledge of God)


The universe has been created with wisdom as a foundation 3:19


The wisdom that God has for us has been prepared since the beginning of time – it will bring us into His glory 1 Cor. 2:7


Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

We call upon His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matt. 6:10)


The wisdom of God makes us gentle and kind

Add to knowledge—self control (discipline)


The Lord is the source of all wisdom 2:6-7


There is no way we will ever exhaust the depths of God’s wisdom Rom. 11:33

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they shall be filled.

We call upon Him to provide for us day by day (Matt. 6:11)


The wisdom of God makes us willing to yield, reasonable


Add to self control—perseverance (patience, endurance)


Nothing compares to wisdom – it is more precious than silver and gold 3:14l 8:11; 16:16


God’s wisdom dwells in us through the Word and through it we build up the Church – Col. 3:15

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

We call upon Him to forgive all our sins as we forgive others (Matt. 6:12)


The wisdom of God makes us full of mercy and good fruit. Christ-likeness

Add to perseverance—godliness (piety)


The evidence of wisdom is found in our mouths
18:4; 10:31; 31:26


The evidence of God’s wisdom in us is love and humility 1 Cor. 13:2; Jas 3:13; Acts 6:8-10

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.


We call upon Him to help us stand against temptation (Matt. 6:13)


The wisdom of God makes us even-handed with others, meek, humility


Add to godliness—brotherly kindness (love for other Believers)

Christ is personified as Wisdom 8:1-36



Wisdom is personified in Christ Lu. 2:52; 1 Cor. 1:30; Col. 2:2-3


Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

We call upon Him to deliver us from the evil one (Matt.6:13)


The Wisdom of God makes us sincere

Add to brotherly kindness—love (love for everyone)
