Auburn/Grass Valley

I am in the Auburn/Grass Valley area of California - such a beautiful part of the country - nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

I am here to meet with long-time friends Anna and Ron Neilsen, and their church New Beginnings. I'm having a wonderful time with these friends and have had some days to relax in the most beautiful place - surrounded by hummingbirds, deer, wild turkey, various other wildlife and beautiful flowers:

Yes...that is a real live bat - very small - hanging upside down
inside the top of this frame. 
They crawl in there during the day and 

go home at night! - sometimes up to 10 of them!
