Why should we study the Word - 20 reasons?
1. Because
God is the Author: 2 Tim. 3:16
2. Because
the Words of God are perfect: Ps. 19:10
3. Because
the Word brings us into relationship with God: Jn. 14:23-24; 1 Pet. 1:23
4. Because
everyone can read and understand the Bible – it is clear, completely relevant
and timeless. It applies to young and old, rich and poor, the wise and the
simple, every generation of every nation and culture on earth: 1 Cor. 10:11;
Rom. 15:4; Ps. 19:7. It deals with human nature which is ageless, and God’s
character and works which are unchanging: 1 Cor. 10:11; Rom. 15:4
5. Because
we are commanded to read the Bible: Josh. 1:8; Matt. 4:4; 2Tim. 2:15
6. Because
God has chosen to accomplish His will through the Word: Ps. 68:11; Is. 55:11;
Acts 8:4-8; 1Pet. 1: 23
7. Because
we are sanctified through the Word: Ps. 119:9-11; Jn. 17:17; 1Tim. 4:5; 1Pet.

the devil has read it: Matt. 4
