Five Books Where God Writes Your name - Part 2

This is a continuation from yesterday - (part 1 here) - I am writing about the five books that the Lord writes our names in - these books will be opened on the Day of Judgment and our eternal destiny will be decided by these five things:

3.         THE BOOK OF MY TEARS
            Ps. 56:8

"...list my tears on your scroll - are they not on your record? (Book - KJV)"  Ps. 56:8
“You keep track of all my sorrows; You have collected all my tears in Your bottle; You have recorded each one in Your book.” (NLT)

God keeps track of all our sorrows, and records all of our tears in a book. This includes tears of joy, disappointment, intercession, frustration, shame, suffering, love, etc. All sickness, trials and the great injustices of life will one day make sense to us as our Father opens this book and wipes away our tears. One day we may know the answer to some of the things that we were weeping about. Surely:

"God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."  Rev 21:4 (also Is. 25:8; Rev. 7:17)

"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy and singing"  Ps. 126:5

Our success in life is not determined
By what we have or the status we achieve,
But by what we have overcome to walk in obedience to God.

The book of our tears and the book of our destiny must be closely related. (See point 2. From yesterday.) God knows what we can accomplish and become during our lifetime, but he also records the suffering and obstacles we have to go through in order to achieve the things that he has ordained. Only He can balance this equation justly. We are not judged according to any man's assessment of our lives, but by our righteous and omniscient Father. People may be disappointed by our achievements, but only God knows the extent of our efforts and triumphs. We may look good in the eyes of men, but God may consider our achievement minimal. On the other hand, we may have done relatively little in the eyes of men, but God may commend our endeavors because of the great magnitude of character needed to complete the task and walk in a manner pleasing to Him. He alone may have seen the tears as we strove for excellence and obedience to His will. Again, this perspective is freeing for our lives. We do not have to be what others are, or what others expect us to be. We only have to listen to the leading of God - He will direct our steps - even when they lead through the path of tears.

On the Day of Judgment I believe that God will hold the book of our days or destiny in one hand, and the book of our tears in the other.  With grace and perfect, righteous justice as his foundation He will call each of us to our eternal destiny with Him as He shouts our triumphs throughout the heavens.

I do not believe that the Day of Judgment is to be feared. I don’t believe the Father is going to read a list of all our failings and sins – I believe this will be a Day of rejoicing for overcomers. Remember, He has already removed our sins far from His remembrance - why on earth do we think He will bring them up again in the future? Our sins are completely dealt with on Calvary.

Ps. 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

In speaking of the New Covenant, the Lord says, “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more’. Heb. 8:12

4.         THE BOOK OF THOSE WHO ARE BORN IN ZION
            Ps. 87

And of Zion it will be said,
“This one and that one were born in her;
And the Most High Himself shall establish her.”
The Lord will record (make note),
When He registers the peoples:
“This one was born there.” Selah
Ps. 87:5-6

Zion is the place where King David set a tabernacle for the Ark of the Covenant. It became known throughout the world as the place where God dwelt, and all nations were invited to come to Zion and be “born” there. Now we, the church, are the dwelling place of the Lord, and we are called the "Zion of the Holy One of Israel."  Is. 60:14  (See also Ps. 132:13-16; Is. 10:24; 12:6; 51:11; 51:16; 62:11-12; Heb. 12:22.)

The call to be "born in Zion" is not a call to have some kind of "new birth" experience in the land of Israel, but to be born as a worshiper - one who loves to love him. The issue of worship has to be settled in our hearts forever. Those who are born in Zion have made God's presence their "home", their foundation, the primary reason for living.

It might seem strange to some that God would include a book like this in His collection. Remember, these are the five books that will be opened before Him on the Day of Judgment. Our eternity rests on the things that are recorded in these five books. I cannot find any other books that might be included in His writings. We have to assume that these five books contain the five most important issues of our lives – issues that will determine our eternal destiny. Included as ones that God can trust to rule and reign with Him forever are the worshipers – the ones who love Him without reservation.

5.         THE BOOK OF THOSE THAT FEAR THE LORD
            Malachi 3:16-17

"Then they that feared the Lord spoke often on to another: and the Lord harkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought on His name. And they shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them as a man spares his own son that serves him."
Mal. 3:16-17

"Fear"  Hebrew  yare  reverence, awe, worship, righteous behavior and piety.

The phrase, the fear of the Lord is found 27 times in the Bible. This is an important subject to the Lord – He requires that we live in the fear of God. He listens to our hearts and the words of our mouths – He is looking for those who walk in this fear. Fearing God is not the same as being afraid of Him. There are 3 components to the fear of God:

• Knowing Him – again, the Lord is primarily looking for intimacy – He knows us, and He longs for us to know Him more and more. When we walk correctly in the fear of God we will come to know Him
• Worshiping or revering Him – Once we know Him, we will find it impossible not to Worship. Worship is a natural outflow from our intimate relationship with God
• Obeying Him – the fear of God is not simply an attitude – it is reflected in our obedient lives (Deut. 10:12)

We can see in Malachi 3:16-17, that the Lord takes this issue into account on the Day of Judgment. Once again, the judgment is not a Day of punishment, but a Day when the Lord makes an accounting of His greatest jewels – or treasures. When we walk in the fear of the Lord, we are a treasure to Him, and will rule and reign with Him as sons for all eternity.

These books contain the sum total of our lives. When we stand before God, He will open all five of these books and He will assess us according to what has been written there. We need to be diligent as we walk before the Lord. We must prioritize the things that God prioritizes.

Summary:

- Be born again
- Understand God’s destiny for your life – every day and detail of your life is precious to Him
- Commit all your struggles and victories to Him. He takes note of every one and will reward you openly as an overcomer
- Make worship your priority – it is the center of our faith and the primary reason for our existence. God created us for intimacy – for relationship with Him
- Walk in the fear of the Lord: know Him; worship Him; obey Him
