Heart of the Worshiper

Deuteronomy 10:12 shows us 5 things that are needed in the heart and life of a worshiper:

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you,
but to fear the Lord your God,
to walk in all His ways
and to love Him,
to serve Him,
to serve the Lord your God with all your heart

• Walk in the fear of God
• Walk in all His ways
• Walk in love for God
• Walk in servanthood - inwardly
• Walk in servanthood outwardly


I would welcome comments on the meaning of these five points.

    It just steals your heart to read this love letter from the God of the Universe, immortal, sovereign of all things, creator of everything...to hear him recite his heart and say I just require that you LOVE ME! WOW Like He's so unlike any other God. Most of them require that you "do for them" and then they have this disconnected posture towards the sacrificer; but God is deliberate and clear about his desire. I just want you to love me back!

    Cory - I agree wholeheartedly! I think the reason for His requirement upon us to love and worship Him is the principle of 2Cor. 3:18 - when we worship Him we become like Him. He wants a Bride who is like Him, so worship is essential to every Believer.
