God is Greater

Here are 7 things where the Lord is described as greater: 

• The Lord is greater than all other gods: Ex. 18:11 Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them.” (Also 2Chron. 2:5)

• The Lord is greater than man: Job 33:12 “Look, in this you are not righteous. I will answer you, For God is greater than man.

• The Lord is greater than great men like Solomon and Jonah: Lu. 11:31-32 The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.

• The Lord is greater than all – His power is greater than all powers and none can take His people out of His hand: Jn. 10:29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

• The Lord is greater in his love than all other loves: Jn. 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

• The Lord is greater than our heart/feelings and He knows everything: 1Jn. 3:20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

• The Lord is greater than the devil – the one who is in the world: 1Jn. 4:4  You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Isaiah 46:9-10

Remember the things I have done in the past.
