7 Things - Presenting A Spotless Bride To Jesus

Here are 7 great verses that call the bride of Christ to perfection in Him. I have to emphasize that this cannot be accomplished by works. Jesus has made a way for us to be holy just as He is holy. There are 2 primary keys to walking in His holiness:

a) Receive by faith what Jesus has accomplished on Calvary – victory over every sin and brokenness known to man

b) Abide in Him and draw strength from Him every day – we have choices to make to follow Jesus into holiness.

The amazing thing to me is that every person is offered this journey into holiness. When I consider who I am and where I have come from, I am in awe of Him for making this possible.

We are called to be:

Without blame - Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love
Key: In verse 3 we find that we are blessed “with every spiritual blessing,” and He has chosen each one of us before the world was made. How awesome is that??!!

Without blemish - Ephesians 5:27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Key:  In verse 26 we find that we can be washed totally clean by God’s Word. It is the Word that makes us radiant (NIV)

Blameless - Colossians 1:22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight
Key: Verse 23 calls us to continue in faith – to stay grounded and steadfast without moving away from the foundations of the Gospel.

Without Blemish - 1 Peter 1:19 …but (you are redeemed) with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
Key: Verse 17 calls us to be faithful in prayer and in walking in the fear of the Lord

Without Spot – 2Peter 3:14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless
Key: Verse 14 calls us to make every effort to live in peace and holiness. Peace towards others and holiness inside our hearts.

Faultless - Jude 24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
Key: Verses 20 to 23 give us a list of seven great foundations that will produce holiness in our lives –
-build each other up in holy faith
-pray in the power of the Holy Spirit
-look for God’s mercy to keep you safe in God’s love
-show mercy to others whose faith is wavering
-rescue all those you can from eternal judgment
-be careful
-hate sin

Without fault - Revelation 14:5 And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God. (These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes.)
Key: In verse 4, we find these holy ones are those who have followed the Lamb wherever He goes. They have kept their eyes on Him and continued without sinning with their mouths. It seems as though this is very important to the Lord – our mouths. This little part can keep us from beholding the Lamb.

Praise God - He not only calls us to holiness, He also makes a way for us to achieve this blameless life.

No matter how sinful we have been - Jesus has made it possible for us to be holy and without blemish. Amazing!

Thank You Jesus

Deuteronomy 32:4

Our God is a God of infinite justice. Sometimes we don’t understand His ways – we expect Him to deal with situations as we would. For example, we tend to expect life to be fair: if we do all the right things, then life should work out well for us…if we are good to people, we expect them to be good to us. But this isn’t always the case. Horrible things happen to innocent people all the time, and we wonder what God is doing.

He is not subject to our thoughts on what is “fair.” Life is definitely not fair a lot of the the time. But…if we can see that although God is not “fair” in a human sense – He is ALWAYS JUST. He operates out of a law of justice rather than a human law of fairness:

Rev. 15:3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!

Ps. 89:14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.

If we look at this verse in Deuteronomy, we can see another verse with 7 statements about God all wrapped up in one verse. I love that!

Deut. 32:4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.

• He is a Rock

• He is Perfect in every way

• He is a God of Justice

• He is a God of Truth

• He is without injustice – It is interesting that in this list, the Lord talks about justice twice; also this is not something added to the list – rather it is a statement of something that God does NOT have. He has no shred of injustice in Him. It is not possible for Him to act or respond to us in a manner that is unjust.

• He is Righteous

• He is Upright

Deut. 32:3 calls us to respond to the wonderful name and greatness of our God – what else can be said of Him who is without injustice and perfect in every way?

Ascribe greatness to our God
