A couple of posts ago. I used the verse from Romans 8:38-39:
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,
nor powers; nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth,
nor any other creature."
This is a list of ten things that cannot keep us from the Lord. We can be secure in our salvation.
1Corinthians 6:9-10 give us a list of 10 things that can keep us from the Kingdom of God:
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
Praise God, Paul goes on to say that such were some of you. Now we have been: washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
It is as if the number 10 represents the 2 hands of God - the number 5 (and the hands of God) represent grace, and His hands of grace have made a way for us to succeed as Believers - that we would be more than conquerors:
Romans 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us.
