Here are 7 interesting scriptures that describe who, and what we are with Christ. Our faith is not something that happens to us, but is a result of our relationship with our victorious Savior and our imitation of His triumph over death and suffering.
We are:
1. Crucified
with Christ (Galatians 2:20).
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is
no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in
the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for
me.
2. Dead
with Christ (Colossians 2:20).
Therefore, if you died with Christ from
the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you
subject yourselves to regulations--
NLT You have died with Christ, and he has
set you free from the evil powers of this world. So why do you keep on
following rules of the world, such as,
3. Buried
with Christ (Romans 6:4).
Therefore we were buried with Him through
baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory
of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
NLT For we died and were buried with
Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious
power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
4. Made
alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:5).
…even when we were dead in trespasses,
made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
NLT that even while we were dead because
of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only
by God’s special favor that you have been saved!)
5. Raised
together with Christ (Colossians 3:1).
If then you were raised with Christ, seek
those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of
God.
6. Sufferers
together with Christ (Romans 8:17).
,,,and if children, then heirs--heirs of
God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also
be glorified together.
NLT And since we are his children, we
will share his treasures--for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours,
too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
7. Glorified
together with Christ (Romans 8:17).
…and if children, then heirs--heirs of
God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also
be glorified together.
NLT And since we are his children, we
will share his treasures--for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours,
too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
