7 Things - Abiding

The Word of God calls us to abide in these 7 things:

• Abide in the secret place – under the shadow of His wings

 Psa. 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

• Abide in God’s Word

John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. (Also 1Jn. 2:14)

John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

1John 2:14 I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one.

• Abide in God’s love

John 15:9 As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

• Abide in the doctrine of Christ

2John 9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

• Abide in the vine

John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

• Abide in the house of God forever

John 8:35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

Psa. 61:7 (See the while Psalm) He (the King) shall abide before God forever. Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!

• Abide in Him

John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

John 15:6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

1John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

1John 4:13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

—Abide in Him through the eating and drinking of His body and blood. John 6:56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

—Abide in Him by walking as He walked. 1John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

—Abide in Him by abiding in the light. 1John 2:10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.

—We abide in Him by keeping His commandments. 1John 3:24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
