Skien, Norway

Right now we are in Skein, Norway - a port town, and export center for timber:

We are in a beautiful State Church (Lutheran), from the nearby town of Gulset. I wanted to show you the beautiful glass cross at the front:

The cross is made up of the shoes of 1000 pilgrims. These are mouth-blown glass  from the artist Borgny Svalastog. Each shoe is in its own glass case with specially designed lighting. The first time the cross was lit up, the artist cried. It certainly is very beautiful. On the floor, there is a blue glass "river of life."

More beautiful than all is the hearts of the precious young people in this Church.

Please pray for this Church this weekend, and the area of Skien.

I pray that our metaphorical shoes will be fitted into the cross as we journey toward the likeness of Christ.
