What does it mean to worship God in spirit and in truth? Here are a few ideas - let me know what you think:
John 4:23–24 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Spirit t (Greek) "pneuma" - the
Holy Spirit or breath of God. God's Spirit joins with our spirit
Truth t (Greek)"alethia" -
truth according to God's Word. God's Word joins with our reason
Spirit t We must allow the Holy Spirit
to participate in our worship, to draw us to the knowledge or TRUTH of God
Truth t We can only know and worship
what/Who we have obeyed. Worship involves obedience to the Word that leads us
to illumination of the SPIRIT of God
Spirit t We worship in intimacy -
discovering who He is
Truth t We worship in reason - doing what He wants
Spirit t He is our Friend
Truth t He is our Fire
Spirit t He draws near to us
Truth t We draw near to Him
Spirit t We must worship with passion
Truth t We must worship with purity
Spirit t We must worship with sincerity
Truth t We must worship with insight
Spirit t We must worship and be lead by the
Holy Spirit
Truth t We must worship and be lead by the
Word
Spirit t Can involve external expressions and emotions
Truth t Can involve internal resolve and peace
And you shall love
the LORD your God
with all your
heart, with all your soul,
with all your mind,
and with all your strength.
This is the first
commandment.

Spirit t Worship in SPIRIT is worshiping from the heart and soul
Truth t Worship in TRUTH is worshiping
from your mind and your strength
