Worship Arts Conservatory: Foundations for Leadership

I want to give you a sample of the class that is about to start at our online school in a few days. If you have ever wondered about worship arts study, then I encourage you to check out our syllabus - we cover subjects such as Theology of Worship, Tabernacle of David, Current Trends in Worship, Worship and the Arts, Prayer, Worship and Meditation, Prophetic Worship...and so much more.

Here is a little sample from our first lesson commencing on 4th March. Subject: Foundations of Leadership:

"One of the greatest honors that God can give us is the call to lead His people. We must always remember that Christian leadership is a great privilege. The Lord has chosen regular people like you and I to be leaders of His people. So long as we are willing and humble He can do great things through the ordinary.

So many leadership models teach us to use leadership positions to get rather than to give. Jesus is the greatest leader who ever lived. His example of leadership was to give of Himself like no one has ever done before Him, or since He lived. Jesus showed us that leadership begins with obedience (He completely obeyed His Father), and ends with pouring Himself out (He gave His life for us.) My prayer for us all as we study this subject is that we would become more like Him as a leader and encourager of the Church.

Leadership Love—from 1 Cor. 13 (by Ken Collier Biblical leadership):
The patient, non-defensive leader—suffers long
The looking-to-be-used-in-someone’s-life leader—is kind
The non-jealous leader—does not envy
The small, unapplauded leader—does not parade itself, is not puffed up
The courteous, non-offensive leader—does not behave rudely
The unselfish, giving leader—does not seek its own
The non-explosive leader—is not easily provoked
The forgiving leader— thinks no evil
The pure leader—does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth
The covering leader—bears all things
The believes-the-best-about-others leader—believes all things
The never-give-up leader— hopes all things
The never-quit leader— endures all things'

We are also going through some of the problems leaders face, leadership styles, qualities and characteristics that are needed in Godly leaders, how to grow as a leader,  how to identify great leaders, servant leadership, what areas of leadership you might be called to...and...that is just in lesson one (there are three lessons in each month.)

From The Psalms - 20 Blessings That Come From Trusting God

The Lord is such a comfort to us throughout the Psalms – every emotion is expressed and the Lord draws so close. He proves over and over again that there is nothing too hard for Him, and no place that His hand cannot reach. His hands are full of blessings – here are 20 blessings that can be found in the Psalms – these blessings will come to us as a result of trusting in Him-

20 Blessings from trusting in the Lord—Psalm:

2:12   Many blessings (84:12)
5:11   The Lord defends you
7:1   The Lord will save you from persecution
9:9-10   The Lord’s presence is with you in trouble
13:5   The Lord will give you joy and dancing
16:1   The Lord will preserve you
17:7   The Lord saves you from your enemies (37:40)
18:2, 30   The Lord becomes your shield (115:9-11)
20:7   The Lord gives you confidence in battle
22:4-8   The Lord delivers and rescues you from your enemies
91:2   The Lord becomes your place of refuge
31:19   The Lord’s goodness is prepared for you
37:3   The Lord will give you a safe dwelling place and you can feed on His faithfulness
37:5   The Lord will answer your prayers
56:11   The Lord will free you from all fear (Ps. 91:2-10)
73:28   The Lord will give you a great testimony
91:3, 10  The Lord will deliver you from all evil and deadly diseases
119:42   The Lord will fill your mouth with wise answers for all who taunt you
125:1   The Lord will give you long-lasting stability
143:8   The Lord will cause His voice and guidance to be with you in the morning

…and this is the central verse in the entire Bible – it is about trusting in Him:

Ps 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man.
