There are many Scriptures that speak of how we can run to the Lord; with the Lord and for the Lord.
Run to the
Lord – The Lord is our
place of safety at every turn. We can run into Him at any moment and find a
place of safety and refuge:
• Run into His name—The name of the Lord
is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are safe. Proverbs 18:10
• Run after the Bridegroom— Draw
me away! We will run after you. Song of Solomon 1:4
• Run to worship Him—When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran
and worshiped Him. Mark 5:6, Mark 9:15, Mark 10:17
• Run to seek His counsel and life—Now as He was going
out on the road, one came running,
knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may
inherit eternal life?” Mark 10:17
• Run to see Him—So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore
tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. Lu. 19:4
• Run to see that He is risen—Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he
saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself
at what had happened.
Lu. 24:12
So they both ran
together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. Jn. 20:4
Run
with the Lord – Once we have run
into God’s presence, we can find the strength to run alongside Him as He brings
His glory into all the earth:
• Elijah ran with miracle power as he ran ahead of a chariot – 1Kings 18:46
• We can run with the Lord in Battle/warfare—Run
with God to defeat an army and leap over wall. (NAS) Psalm 18:29
David ran to get to the battle: 1
Sam. 17:22
David ran to fight the in the battle:
1 Sam. 17:48
David ran to complete the battle: 1

• Run in obedience and rejoicing—I run in the path of
your commands because you have set my heart free Psalm 119:32
• Run in the strength of the Lord—When you walk, your steps
will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Proverbs 4:12
• Run without getting weary—But those who hope in
the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and
not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
• Run with certainty—Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. 1 Cor. 9:26-27
• Run with certainty—Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. 1 Cor. 9:26-27
Run For
the Lord – we can go out to the nations in His name and run with His
anointing
• Run to the nations and call them to the Lord—Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not
know you shall run to you, Because of the LORD your God, And the Holy One of
Israel; For He has glorified you. Is 55:5 (NKJV)
He will lift up a banner to the nations from afar, And will
whistle to them from the end of the earth; Surely they shall come with speed,
swiftly. Is. 5:26
• Run with the Gospel message—So they went out
quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. Matt. 28:8
• Run with a goal and with integrity—…in a race all
the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the
prize.
1 Cor. 9:24
1 Cor. 9:24
• Run with endurance—Run with endurance the race that has
been set before you. Heb
12:1
• Run with the vision God has given you, then you will cause others to
run as well—the LORD replied: “Write down the
revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.” Hab 2:2
…the angel who was speaking to me
left, and another angel came to meet him and said to him: “Run, tell that young
man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of men
and livestock in it. Zech. 2:3-4
…and then
we see the Father who runs to us:
