Job and the Wonders of God

In the final chapters of Job, we find an awesome description of God's handiwork.

The book of Job is tackles some difficult questions. In the midst of suffering, Job questions the purposes of God in the lives of mankind. Job wants to know why the righteous suffer and how to walk through the trials of life. God never directly answers Job or his friends. From chapters 38 to 41, the Lord simply talks about His absolute glory, power and perfection.

Here is a list of the things God says about Himself. Nowhere else in the Bible to de we get such a profound picture of God’s majestic power:

Job 38:5, 18  He measured the earth
Job 38:8, 11  He birthed the sea and set its borders
Job 38:12  He commands the morning
Job 38:16  He knows the depths of the sea
Job 38:17  He knows the gates of death
Job 38:19  He knows where light and darkness come from
Job 38:22  He has a treasure house for snow and hail where they are designed and stored

Job 38:26-27  He waters all the earth and causes things to grow
Job 38:28-29 He created all the waters and ice
Job 38:31-33  He commands the stars and constellations
Job 38:34-35  He commands the rain and lightening with His voice
Job 38:36  He is the source of all wisdom
Job 38:37-38  He can count the clouds and start the rain when the earth is hardened
Job 38:39-41  He can hunt like a lion and the rave
Job 39:1-4 He knows when all the creatures give birth and how they grow
Job 39:5-18  He created the wild animals to be free and He designed their intricate ways

Job 40:9 His arm is strong and His voice is like thunder

Take time in prayer to have your spiritual eyes opened to "see" God doing all of these
things. It is so easy to put God into a "box" - let your heart and mined be expanded as
you worship Him and give Him the glory due to His name!
