The Anointing 10

It is important to know that the Lord desires to anoint all of His servants. As we have learned, the anointing is Christ Himself – it is all of Him covering all of us as we yield all of ourselves to all of His grace. The greatest way to obtain this anointing is to abide in Him, walk alongside Him, overcome through Him, change to be like Him, surrender to Him, and live for Him. Our everyday choices to walk in holiness and victory produces a nation-changing anointing on our lives.

The 3 anointings that we must apply to our lives are:

The anointing of water, which is His Word living in us
The anointing of oil, which is His character smeared on us
The anointing of blood, which is His death and life abiding in us

John uses the word “anointing’ 3 times in 1John 2:20, 27 as he admonishes us to abide in Him as He teaches us all things.

Here are the things we need to do in order to live in the anointing. This is an anointing that no one can give you – we walk in this anointing as a result of:

• Consecration – each of us as believers are set apart to minister as consecrated, passionate God-lovers. It is out of relationship and imitation of His character that we have layers of anointing in our lives. Set your life apart from all other things and run after God with all your heart.

• Word – You cannot have an anointing outside of your relationship with the Lord in His Word. The Word washes and instructs, it brings you face to face with the Lord and provides you with a powerful anointing.

• Receive – the anointing has been freely offered – we need to receive what He has made available to us. Put off all your old ways of thinking and acting – put on Christ and His nature. “Wear” His anointing as a beautiful cloak.

Psalm 133 (Message)
1 How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!
2 It's like costly anointing oil flowing down the head and beard, flowing down Aaron's beard, flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.
3. It;s like the dew on Mount Hermon flowing down the slopes of Zion. Yes. that's where God commands the blessing, ordains eternal life.
